Arrived at LAX on time. Mike Nicolai braved the Friday afternoon LA traffic to pick us up. After waiting for a while for two of our three bags, we discovered that they had arrived earlier and were waiting for us in the store room (go figure). After so many hours of traveling, it was a little frustrating to encounter stop and go traffic all the way through LA. I finally arrived home about 6:30 pm. That was a total of 44 hours of travel, from leaving our meeting in Lilongwe on Thursday morning to arriving at my home. Poor Kim had a school function to attend with Mike and her girls at 7:00 pm.

After 11 hours of sleep last night, I am feeling much better. Only one scary moment during the night when I woke up and thought I was still in Malawi but could not figure out where I was because it was pitch black and nothing seemed familiar. After a few minutes of confusion I finally remembered that I was home.
